Big Daddy goes... PEEKABOOOOO! - Image 1 News flash from Major Nelson: a launch trailer for BioShock will air tonight around 9:45 p.m. ET on Spike TV. It's going to be aired during the show "The Kill Point", after which, Geoff Keighley would be dropping in for a surprise announcement. Once the trailer gets aired on Spike, an HD version will hit the Marketplace soon after.

While the trailer is already enough to get some of us excited, Keighley's "surprise announcement" is making droves and droves of people (myself included) hoping that it's got something to do with a demo.

We previously reported of a supposed demo that USK had already rated, so maybe this could finally be it! Besides, the game is getting released in just a couple of days (August 21 in North America), so rolling out a demo between now and then couldn't come at a better time.

Time to clear the decks for this one. Whether it really is a BioShock demo or not (hey, it could be dashboard theme or maybe a walkthrough video, but still...), you just might want to clean out
some stuff on your hard drive. Just in case.

And it has finally hit Live! Yep, go switch on your green machines pronto, cos BioShock's demo has finally landed (and that was really quick, too!). Currently, the QJ office is all abuzz with its arrival, and of course, we're already downloading it ourselves. Apart from the demo, there's also a trailer to look out for.

It's size is approximated at about 1.35 gigs. Well, we do hope you heeded our humble advice about clearing up that hard drive! No doubt one of our zealous writers will have his hands on it soon, and with a quick impression on it shortly thereafter.

Thanks to all those who commented on it, and to Anees for tipping us on it!

I've got the Limited Edition copy on pre-order. I've seen enough, i don't want to see anymore until the full game is in my hands. A demo would still be good for those that are still undecided.

This game set the bar even higher than Gears did in terms of graphics. Not only that, but the sound effects are perfect. The atmosphere this game creates is incredible, a feature that is usually left out unconsciously in so many games today. I bet this game will take Game Of The Year this year.

Totally agree. Epic and Gears of War can eat their hearts out. This game is so insanely beautiful....yet appropriately eerie and creepy at the same time.

Combined with combat that is rather difficult and spot on controls makes this game an absolute must buy.

This demo should more than persuade anyone who might have been thinking twice about picking up Bioshock...though I have no idea why anyone would've thought that way in the first place.

Then these others take a back seat. Resistance FTW!

Not the best-looking game, but the mood it sets, the sound, the music, all awesome. I can tell it's gonna be a really great, story-driven game, and that's something thats been really rare these days.

I hope this game has multiplayer. that was the best demo i've ever played on xbox live. This basicly kills anything thats coming out. And the trailer at the end of the demo.. wow... there is so much you can do in this game.. this game is going to own everything if there is multiplayer (prays to god there is multiplayer).

   Re: lmxloco (Unregistered) - 2007-08-13
 » nope.

No multiplayer...single player only.
   by yup (Unregistered) - 2007-08-13
 » yup

no multiplayer but they have said that they may decide to add a multiplayer feature down the line (maybe as downloadable content for the 360 and a patch for the PC). Though it would've been nice to have the multiplayer for this game I'm still not caring cause if this is anything like system shock or system shock 2, i'll be playing this game for months straight without even looking at other games. Looks like i'm going to have to wait before I pick up Halo 3 and Metroid 3 and Smash bros... after playing this demo I can see its going to be the only thing that i'll be interested game wise for a very long time (well.. maybe unreal 3 can break the addiction : )

This game freakin' rocks! Most generous demo I've ever played! Did anyone laugh with joy when they made the controller rumble when you got your first plasmid? It really felt like it was happening!

 » oi oi oi

the game was ok, the hype that was set up behind this game was ridiculous and it failed in the delivery. its at best a 9 out of 10, and the graphics are normal. this game isnt a 10 out of 10, and who ever that should go to jail. i might pick up halo 3 but not until about 2 to 4 months after release and im not picking up bioshock.
