Assassin's Creed 2 - Image 1Let the record show that Michael Pachter was right. Ubisoft has officially announced that they'll be releasing Assassin's Creed 2 during their next fiscal year (March 2009 to March 2010). A new Ghost Recon and Red Steel game are also coming. Details after the link.

Assassin's Creed - Image 1Wedbush Morgan analyst and video game industry information guru, Michael Pachter, recently let slip that the next Assassin's Creed game will be set several hundred years beyond the crusades, sometime in the 1700s and perhaps during the French Revolution. Ubisoft had a thing or two to say about that.

Prince of Persia - Image 1With an announcement of Prince of Persia going gold, Ubisoft is also bringing more good news: it looks like Altair's Assassin's Creed costume is being passed around and recycled like fruitcake presents from three Christmases ago. After being donned by none other than Solid Snake in MGS4, Altair's red-and-white robes go to the Prince as an unlockable costume in Prince of Persia. Screenshots and more info in the full article!

Well, we might have been musing about them coming up with a Metal Gear Solid - slash - Assassin's Creed hybrid, and now... well... Let's just say we're pretty amused. In this gameplay video, we see Altair running around a familiar-looking war zone, carrying his own rifle and trying to fight a couple of... nah. Sorry. No spoilers. Anyways, though the video appears to not take itself seriously (clue: April 1, 2008), you can't help but think if there's actually more than meets the eye...
