Ubisoft's on a definite roll this time around, with the company enjoying good sales numbers in the first quarter thanks to a boost afforded by the release of games such as Assassin's Creed (Xbox 360, PS3, PC), Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC), and others. In the latest issue of the UK Official PlayStation Magazine (the same one that gave Metal Gear Solid 4 a solid 10 rating), they dished out some rumors that, if true, hint at good times ahead. They have rumors of an Assassin's Creed movie in the works, a Cloverfield game, and even the setting for the Uncharted sequel. Check them all out and more in the full article.

Remember Hideo Kojima and Jade Raymond's interview from a few months back? Well, we might have been musing about them coming up with a Metal Gear Solid - slash - Assassin's Creed hybrid, and now... well... Let's just say we're pretty amused. In this gameplay video, we see Altair running around a familiar-looking war zone, carrying his own rifle and trying to fight a couple of... nah. Sorry. No spoilers. Anyways, though the video appears to not take itself seriously (clue: April 1, 2008), you can't help but think if there's actually more than meets the eye...

There are video game awards, and then there are video game awards. This particular video game awards feature is probably of the latter, but with a lot of good-natured irreverence thrown into the mix. While it would have been easier for us to just make an article about our favorite games (and we did), we felt that the gaming year of 2007 had a lot to offer, and thus we're giving credit (and blame) where it's due.

There's nothing quite like the feeling of seeing your brainchild exceed 2.5 million units in sales. That's why Ubisoft">Adam Novickas, marketing director for Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed (PC, PS3, Xbox 360), was willing to talk the success of Assassin's Creed's intellectual property, and how Ubisoft went about achieving it.

 Chart Track UK has released the numbers for video game sales in the UK as of December 22. Activision and Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PS3,  Xbox 360, PC) took top honors, leading all the other games in sales.

For whatever reason people might derive about its success,  Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed (PC, Xbox 360, PS3) has surpassed sales expectations and currently ranks as one of the top-selling PlayStation 3 software titles to date.

The NPD Group's numbers for November are out, with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and the Nintendo Wii dominating software and hardware sales charts. The video game industry in the U.S. earned 52% more greenbacks than last year, and you can find the breakdown at the full article.

Media Create's software sales chart for the week ending December 2 shows that Nintendo DS titles still sell the most software with Level 5's Professor Layton and Pandora's Box on top.
