Air Force One - Image 1We always get a good dose of politics when playing Tom Clancy games. Curiosity got the best of Patrick Klepek of the MTV Multiplayer Blog and decided to ask Ubisoft if the new US prez is onboard Air Force One in Tom Clancy's HAWX (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360). Yep, news is getting slow.

Anyway, one of the missions in HAWX involves defending Air Force One as it flies the President to a safe location. Klepek wondered if it was Obama in there, but Ubisoft tells him that it's not. In fact, the president doesn't even have a name in HAWX, he's just referred to simply as "the president."

Anyway, at the end of his post, Klepek left with a question, "How do you think video games should handle virtual Presidencies?"

Political views, anyone?

 » Dah!

They would need a permission of the president to put his face and name in the game, and surely they wouldn't get the "ok" in that kind of game...

So Dah they'll put "Mr President" without any kind of name. What they could do is putting the president black. Then We'd all know It's Obama, but nobody could argue with the fact that "it could be anyone" since nobody is named.

In reality, NOBODY CARES.

In videogames, like in movies, the real president never appear...

» As Far as I remember

Tom Clancy games always have a fake president and video games in general, I don't think ever had a real president in it or atleast the president at the time.

 » Yep

Not to mention that the Tom Clancy universe takes place in the near future. It's always something like 5-10 years from now. On a side note, does anyone else think that Tom Clancy should be the Secretary of Defense? I think he'd have creative ways of forseeing potential events and dealing with them.

 » WELL...FROM THAT PART

it is ok to not have a real president but if tom clancy want to make it Obama in a not direct way, he could just put a black president!

Well if they made the President be Bush, then everyone would be trying to shoot down the plane rather than protect it.

Damn, I miss 'Great Moments In Presidential Speeches.'
