Does extensive experience with video games enable one to be a better Raptor pilot in Battlestar Galactica? That might be a good question to ask Tahmoh Penikett, aka Lieutenant Karl C. "Helo" Agathon, star of the show. You see, not only has Penikett put Sierra Online's Battlestar Galactica to the acid test, he also has a bit of history with video games as well. Find out what Mr. Penikett thinks about the game after the jump! |

Auran Games' upcoming MMORPG Fury has been in development for more than two years now, so when news broke that Gamecock will be distributing it in North America, those who were eagerly waiting for its release let out a collective whoop of joy. In a recent interview with GameSpot, Auran CEO Tony Hilliam revealed a few more details regarding their plans for the game's release. According to Hilliam, Fury is slated to be release in "Q4 2007 for North America, and as close to that date in other territories." Auran is also trying to work out a simultaneous release in all Western territories. A release in other markets - China, Korea, and Europe - has yet to be finalized, as Auran is currently "in negotiations with a number of players". Australasia, on the other hand, doesn't have anything to worry about. Auran will be handling Fury's release in those territories themselves. Aside from Fury, Auran also has another online game up its sleeve: the Battlestar Galactica XBLA game. While Hilliam didn't give out any release details, he did say that the team is working "very closely" with Sierra, and that while the game will be released on XBLA, it is "beyond pure arcade" and is "not far off a complete title in the end." Hilliam also intimated that plans to "work closely with Universal Pictures to tie it in with various releases of the TV show" are in the works. Frak 'n cheese! The Cylon wars are starting to heat up. Not wanting to lose the momentum right after announcing the release date of their game, Sierra Online has now revealed more info about Battlestar Galactica. The HD game, which will be bypassing retail and heading directly for paid download on the PC and via the XBL for 360 owners, will be based on events as seen in the first two seasons of the series.Aside from the nine missions in single-player mode, there will be over a dozen multiplayer maps that can hold up to 16 player on the PC and up to eight on 360. There's a four-versus-four and eight-versus-eight team play, with both side of the war being represented - Colonials and Cylons. Sierra will also be rolling out some downloadable content: new missions, ships, multiplayer maps, etc. It seems as if they're really giving fans what they want to see in a BSG game. To stay true to the TV series, the development team has worked closely with the studio producing BSG, and will be bringing the ships into the game. More than that, they're even going to add more depth into the universe by introducing new never-before-seen ships. |
