Mass Effect - Image 1

Details for Mass Effect 2 are scant. Even the teaser video shown last night was rather... vague in itself, Shepard-wise. But, here's one thing we could confirm about the sequel though.

Over at BioWare's forums, a couple of people from the quality assurance team have said that  gamesaves from the first game could be used in Mass Effect 2. Succinctly, QA Jack Lamden says, "Hang on to your Mass Effect 1 saves." And following that, others in the QA team chimed in, saying pretty much the same thing.

They didn't go into detail about what the gamesaves are going to be used for - unlockables, perhaps? And Chris Priestly, also a BioWare QA, explains:

This [the teaser trailer] is just your first taste of Mass Effect 2. We are not yet discussing the details of the game. However, as Jack said, don't delete your Mass Effect 1 saves yet.

Ah well. Looks like Karl B. (and the rest of you who also haven't finished Mass Effect) might want to hurry it up!
