The manufacture date on the back looks like 2005-09-14, which is way too old to be Zephyr. Besides, I don't think MS would release a new version of the 360 without the 65nm CPU upgrade. The 360 dev kits are black also.

the stickers on the back dont rly look like the sticker on this black 360. and btw, it does say 'Xbox 360 Console'. however, the small square sticker beneath it seems to say' Reviewers kit'... oh well..
also, if you compare the 2 pictures, you can see the devkit's a/v connector is shiny and this black 360's cable isnt.
AND the devkits have a huge thing in the place of the harddrive, which again this black 360 does not have.

I believe this case was simply painted black, nothing more. If you look at the 2nd pic, you can see that the inside walls of the fan exhaust holes are still white whereas a custom case would likely be molded from actual black plastic. Surely isnt the new "Zephyr" 360.

The white part your referring to is actually the metal mesh that forms the inner metal case of the 360. The holes in the metal line up exactly with the holes in the plastic case, so they're not visible until you see them at an angle.
The one thing that is logical to this not being the zephyr is the 2005 date of manufacture.
The lack of HDMI port is irrelevant because in the leaked video of it (a month or so ago) you could see it was directly below the video out port, so with a video cable connected you would not be able to see it any way.
What i want to know is why are there game names written on the HDD? is it because it's a reviewers console and he can launch games off the HDD to review them???

Oh really YAWN you must be one of the unlucky few then eh,anyway a few of the very first model may of had a problem but that was fixed immediately , bound to happen with the technology a year ahead of the competition,but look what it has achieved , backed by 99% of game developers and a game library the competition can only dream of.

mmwell u see it is greyish yeah, but doesn't mean anything. you say it would be molded from black plastic, but the replacement front panels that are available right now look just like that, grey except for the front. so i don't think so...
