Bungie - Image 1

After releasing their flagship title for the Xbox 360, Halo 3, Bungie shocked the videogaming community once more with its recent split with Microsoft. While we all know that they're not really broken up - MS and Bungie will still be working together for the Halo series, as well as future projects - we can't help but wonder: why break up an already good combination in the first place? Thankfully, Bungie's very own Frankie has the answer, through a post in the company's official website. Here it is, verbatim:

Bungie has long been built on creativity, originality and the freedom to pursue ideas. Microsoft agreed, and rather than stifle our imagination, they decided it was in both our best interests to unleash it. We’ll continue to make Xbox 360 games, and we’ll continue to make amazing games for [Microsoft Game Studios].

In that regard, nothing has changed. All that has changed is that now Bungie Studios is once again, the property of the folks of Bungie Studios. Microsoft is and will continue to be, a brilliant, inventive and creatively collaborative publishing partner. Practically speaking, nothing has changed and you guys won’t see much, if any difference, for a while unless you come to work for us, that is.

Well, that's a load off our chests, for those of us worried about future Bungie titles. Here's to bigger, better and definitely more awesome games from the company that brought us Master Chief - it's been a great ride, and we're definitely hooked!

Oni,Oni, Oni:
Sorry Bungie, had to get that off my chest. Loved the Mac version of Oni. Any chance of Oni 2? Looking at Your history its not a step back but rather another step forward as all that you have done is based upon what went before.
