I have the Feb 07 issue number 221 of Gamepro,
and the Ad is on page 60-61. The two page Ad of crackdown says that it includes an invitation to the Halo 3 multiplayer beta- limited time offer, but on specially marked boxes.(Its on the bottom right corner of the Ad.)

» Halo is a very fun shooter, but....
I think Halo is really cool because there are a lot of possibilities within the story, and Halo 3 seems to support this. Although I think Halo is one of the best FPSs I've ever played, I've had more fun with other games then Halo. I don't really like Halo 1&2 that much, and games like Fear and Half life are way better than it. But after seeing Halo 3 videos and knowing information about it, I'm definetely more excited about it then I was for Halo 1&2.
And my friend's uncle works at Microsoft Studios and he's tried out Halo 3's multiplayer (you remember pimps at sea or something like that?), and he really liked and can't wait for us to try it out. Its too bad he can't say anything about it to me, because you know how slow and secretive Bungie is about releasing new info on Halo3.

I have SOCOM 3 and Halo 2. Sometimes I feel like playing one, sometimes I feel like playing the other. I'd like to be part of the Halo 3 beta, as it sounds interesting, especially considering that it's free.

And to answer your question of what the PS3 has, they will have Resident Evil 5 and Oblivion as well, for one, as well as Lair, Motorstorm, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Gran Turismo 5, God of War 3, and yes, Metal Gear Solid, one of the biggest franchises in gaming. While the PS3 may suck right now in terms of game selection, you'll find that in a year it will have plenty of good games to choose one. I might give in and buy one then, but for now, I'm happy with my 360, Wii, WoW, and Guitar Hero 2.
And I might add, that I hope this rumor is true, because I would pay a lot of money to get in on the Halo 3 Beta.

I presume this includes theeuropean version as they do metion the euro release date for crackdown in the press release. also you can get in by playing halo 2 on xbox live for 3 hours in total between feb 1st and feb 3rd and be one of the first 13,333 to register on a upcoming halo 3 site to say ue played halo 2 in this time...... also not so easy as i expect all the places will be gone by about 6 am feb 1st unless they distribute the places thorought the three days. :S :S :S
