When Capcom asked its community members if they wanted DLC or a separate game for Resident Evil 5 Alternative Edition, they really wanted answers. As it turns out, more folks and heavier reasoning said they'd rather have DLC. Giving in to consumer preference, the publisher decided to have the version as downloadable content.

On the plus side, you won't be paying for an entirely new package only to get additional features such a playable sequence and motion control support. Think Dynasty Warriors 6 and DW6 Empires. On a bad note, those who've traded in their copies of Resident Evil 5 will not be able to get their hands on it, unless they spend some more and buy again.

For folks who still have their copies and are still having fun getting top scores on Mercenaries, good news, you're gonna get more BSAA action for RE5.

The DLC price has yet to be announced, but Capcom is still targeting a Spring 2010 release for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions via their respective online stores, while the PC version still needs confirmation.

 » hmm

Pretty good news for me since I never bought it on PS3, just played it on PC with a friend. I was planning on buying this since everyone and their mom wants me to get it all of a sudden, so meh. Better than buying this and then waiting just to re-buy the game.

I bought this game, and was worried I'd have a whole new set of achievements to acquire but this is good news for me and many others!

I feel sorry for console owners. I've been playing RE5 on my PC with 3D via GeForce 3D Vision. It has been the most awesome experience I've ever had playing a game.

Right now, that's the only reason for me to buy a new card if I had the money. But with ATI kicking butt lately....

I'm glad they went the way of DLC. Or, better yet, they could release it both ways, for those who want it all together as one package.

ISOHaven,
have you posted any positive comment on this board ever?

@ShinseiTom - You also need a new monitor. But trust me, it's worth it!!!

How do you figure ATI is kicking butt? It's not about balls out power. Video cards now are too powerful. The CPU and HDD are major bottlenecks. It's all about support. The past two handful of games I've played have all had Nvidia support. The fact that RE5 is all Nvidia tells me just how much ATI is in the *****ter.

@f31j - Excuse you? All the time. In fact on this page I posted a possitive comment about the PC version of RE5. Did you have anything real to say about this subject? Or is this douche comment all you have?

some people only have about $400 bucks to spend on a system, a decent graphics card is atleast 250, and you still dont have a game

And? I didn't say no one should own a console and should own a PC instead.

The best costs money. That's always the case.

Is this the "Director's Cut" that we've been hearing about?

Or this something different, and the DC is still coming out?

It looks like you're starting to see the light! Congrats! Most people don't make it that far.
