Capcom's Devil May Cry 4 reaches two million units sold worldwide

Capcom's Devil May Cry 4 reaches two million units sold worldwide - Image 1Capcom is sending out word that the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the video game Devil May Cry 4 have easily broken the two million mark in terms of total units sold worldwide.

The game became first available in Japan last January 31. This was then followed by the launch of DMC 4 in North America on February 5 and in Europe last February 8.

The total number of sales is expected to increase even more as the PC version of the title is yet to be released. All in all, this feat brings the whole Devil May Cry franchise to nine million units sold around the globe.

It also makes the series one of Capcom's most successful creations. The company attributed the success to its dedication to fans:

Capcom, lastly, has yet to announce a concrete release date for the PC version of Devil May Cry 4. But officials of the company has been quoted before that the build is going to be excellent in terms of gameplay and content.

A great accomplishment. Does anyone at QJ know how much DMC4 sold in its first week, on each console? Cause im eager to know the info on that

PROOF, that the install is a NON ISSUE.

Most ppl didn't know about the install and we still don't know which console it sold more units on.If this install becomes mandotory this can effect game sales on the ps3.Sony really needs 2 make sure this fashion doesn't continue console games should ALWAYS be plug n play.

1. It doesn't matter which console sold more. Unless you are trying to show that people MOVED from the PS3 to the 360 because of this?

2. The game is plug and play. There is absolutly nothing about it that isn't plug and play.

3. The install is mandatory. Where was that going?

It was reported last week that the 360 version was selling more, and accounted for almost 60% of the total sales.

In what area? The last thing i heard was in Pal regions and Japan the PS3 version was raping the 360 version by 5-1.

I doubt the 360 sold more than the PS3, considering the fact an interview from 1UP with the DMC4 devs stated this game feels better and plays better on the PS3.

Besides the Installation helps the PS3 verison, not just with load times but strain on the blu-ray drive in the PS3. The 360 version was going to get this as well, but since MS didn't want non hard-drive users to suffer they got the short end of the stick, in fact i read that if the 360 had this the train of the drive would be lessen alot and the noise wouldn't be as loud as it is.

well PS3 or 360 I don't mind. I have the 360 version and all i can say is that the graphics and play are just great.
I love well executed cutscenes and in this game they are the best I have experienced so far. Not only do they look good but they really add to the game and at each level i am just rushing to get the next fix of eye candy.
Regardless of console pls do not rant which is better, just enjoy.
And a big well done to Capcom.
