Chad Kroeger - Image 1It seems that not everyone wants to be a big rockstar, living in hilltop houses and driving 15 cars. At least that's what seems to be the case when Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger said that there aren't many rock bands left in the scene.

"I feel like there's not enough rock bands out there, especially when we go on the road," said Kroeger, on what he perceives to be a rock band drought. "it's tough to find other bands out there, because either they're making a record, or they just got done touring."

With that said, Chad Kroeger calls out to kids: "Start rock bands. Set down the Guitar Hero, learn how to play an actual guitar and start a band," he said.

Nothing beats the real thing. If you want to be a Guitar Hero (Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii) then grab a real guitar and rock it out.

What happens with too much rock games:

Well said.

 » Its funny.

I started learning the guitar while waiting for Guitar Hero to be released for the Wii. I Like GH - but I am spending a lot more time playing the real thing and already on my second guitar. Guitar Hero and real guitars sit pretty well side by side in my book.

yeah, i agree. although i do think guitar hero is a good exercise for flexibility (get those fingers crackin'!), nothing beats the real thing still.

why must older people always use the word "the" infront of "newer" thing?

the guitar hero
the spiderman
etc

the god damn batman

 » Wow,

I don't know where he's been touring, but where I live there's bands EVERYWHERE. But then what would I expect from a guy who plays for Nickelback.

 » Seriously.

Nickelback, telling people to be musicians? Wow. They should try it first.

» Pretty much sums it up

These are my same feelings, but I think freeplay hit the nail on the head with that one. Nickelback is just a washup clap back sing-along band, a sort of Billy Ray Cyrus thats managed to have more than one or two songs get constant radio play(and I mean CONSTANT). I think they need to think about why it is exactly that THEY cant find any bands to tour with, nobody respectable wants to play music with these people, and for good reason.

He should pick up Guitar Hero & maybe then he will learn how to actually play better.
