Forza Motorsport 3 - Image 1

After a full year, we finally got a confirmation to the rumor that Turn 10's Xbox 360 racer, Forza Motosport 3, will be indeed be shipping on two discs. John Wendl, content director of the game, gave his affirmative statement to this issue himself.

If you'll remember last year, rumor came out that the game will be needing two discs because of the vast amount of content expected to be in the game. Try 400-cars-100-tracks-and-near-limitless-car-customization-options-vast.

"It is going to ship on two discs," said Wendl. According to him, Disc one "is the full experience, even disc one is bigger than any other racing game other there." Meanwhile Disc two will include "a lot of extra cars, even a handful of tracks."

Oh, okay, so Disc 2 will function more as your "spare tire", if you will. To describe it more succinctly, it will be acting as a data transfer, downloading the additional content to the hard drive so you can add it on to the first disc.

As for the promised 400 cars: every single one of them is definitely playable.

 » Hmmm...

Actually I think that's a very good idea! PC have been doing things like this for ever. Having a install disc and then having a play disc. That would really work out for a lot of games that are going to take more than one DVD. Which means that you'll never have to change discs!

Part of what makes (made?) consoles so great was just poping in a game and playing it...not worrying about installing or running out of space.

The PS3 and now 360 piss me off when I have to install games....it's not a big deal, but still a waste of time. Killzone 2 at least showed that you do not need installs for an amazing game, if you are not lazy. Still a part of me wonders at how crazy the game would look if they did install some data do the HDD....

@Shatterdome.

Just think of it as free optional DLC. :)

GT5 will bebigger, better and in one Blue Ray disc...heck..even GT Portable is said to have 800 cars...all playable, you know is true

 » 800 cars

with crappy physics and damage, poor lighting, and bad graphics. It's not that hard to do if you cut out everything that makes the game look good.

So comparing the PSP with the 360 graohics eh?...whats next? PS3 looks better than DS?...still this game is no where close to GT5

 » dude come on

Lets be real here...800 cars is just stupid. When GT2 did this there was like 50 different skylines. I fail to see how 50+ styles of the same car is greater than say a Ferrari F50 or some other exotic race car. I mean seriously...GT had cars like the Dodge neon and chevy cavalier and I just saw screens of the GT Mobile that had a Dodge Ram Pickup. SERIOUSLY...A Dodge Ram Pickup? I drive a Jeep Wrangler in real life...I will not be upset if I cannot race it in Forza 3. Don't get me wrong here...I will have both games on launch...but seriously your not helping your cause. If you don't like Forza then don't play it but to say that GT5 is better cause it has every single Geo Metro ever made is just stupid. Also...Prolouge was GARBAGE to say the least..and it REQUIRED an install so the whole one bluray disc point is moot.

how can people be pleased? if it was 100 less cars people will say "we need more", we are getting lots of cars and now you says is stupid?...my comments are according to what Wendl said about beign the biggest racer game out there...

   Re: noshoes84 - 2009-06-05
 » No actually

I never complained at all...I was fine with the number of cars in Forza 2. It's games like need for speed that only have 20 or so cars that I complain about. Like I said, 50 cars of the same Make and model IS stupid...you may like to use every Metro or Ford Festiva ever made but in reality those cars are not race cars and are not fun to drive...so why would I want to simulate driving one? I'm not bashing the game for this...it's a great achievement...I am simply saying I fail to see how 800 cars some how makes it more fun/better than Forza...because it doesn't. Think QUALITY over QUANTITY or better yet think Ferrari > Dodge Ram Pickup.
