Crackdown 2 - Image 1

We really haven't heard a lot about Crackdown 2 apart from the really sparse description we got from the game's official site. That's changing a bit today.

New developers Ruffian Games have revealed to Edge that while the game is still set in Pacific City, the environment will look more like "an entirely new map" as the sequel is set further into the future than the original.

"We’ve altered a great deal, and think people who enjoyed the first game are going to be really pleased when they enter this one," said creative director Bill Thompson. "And we’ve made sure the gameplay’s altered significantly."

These significant alterations also seem to cover the big issues gamers had with the original. Said Thompson, "We made the first game and we know what was lacking. We’ve listened a lot to the community and the reviews."

Thompson also assured Crackdown fans that while there's a new developer behind the sequel, a lot of the same people who worked on the original are still involved.

"We’ve got core members from every discipline who worked on it, the majority of the design team, and, depending on whom you speak to, some of the best coders and most talented artists," he said.
