You guys should start revving up your engines up for the upcoming Cagney software update for Criterion Games' Burnout Paradise (PS3, Xbox 360). The devs recently noted that there will be 70 new Freeburn challenges included in the update.

Now that's something that you guys can definitely chew on in the long run. The Freeburn challenges have been revitalized so that you guys can get new gaming experiences with it. Three new things are included in the update: Multi part challenges, Timed challenges, and Co-op Leaderboards.

The Multi-part challenges are essentially a combination of multiple challenges. Here's an example of what they have tried: Eight players met up at the Observatory on White Mountain then headed for the Rock Hole on South Mountain Drive. Through the course of the drive, they had to jump over Dead Man's Edge, hit the windmill jump, and race through the tubes. The result is one great experience packed with chaos and fun.

Timed challenges are going to be applied to each of the new challenges. It will foster teamwork and cooperation from every player. If a team doesn't make it in time, then everybody will fail. Just don't forget there's still a competition aspect to the game. The best performer in the team challenge still gets his name in lights after the run.

As for the Co-op Leaderboards, every challenge will have its own board. If you manage to meet the target time, you can make you way to the top of the Leaderboards. Now, this is something that you guys can definitely test your skills on.

Anyway, the devs were also able to supply videos for two, three, and four-player challenges. After all that reading, be sure to enjoy the clips below. We'll keep you guys posted for more updates on the game as they come.
