It's important for us that all online players could show off new content when they go online and unfortunately it wasn't going to be possible to do this by supporting the lowest common storage denominator, the 64Mb Memory Unit, either in size or data read speeds. Crucially we also didn't want to split the playing community between those that have updated data and those that don't. We saw this as vital in maintaining simplicity to all online users; different players having different content packages wouldn't be able to play online with each other. |

that almost everyone who like to play online is the same people who buy the 360s with hard drive... but that teach us that... don't buy an arcade or core console lol...
I bought an arcade bundle because it was relatively cheap and I figured the 256 card was enough for saves and maybe patches or whatever(I wasn't really planning on downloading all that much). I didn't figure the small memory unit would hinder online play. Not that I'm pissed at anyone, just somewhat... annoyed? But then I found out that you need a HDD for BC and then I was kinda pissed at myself. hahaha......
Microsoft never should have released that crappy 64mb memory card. I got stuck with one in a core bundle because it was all I could find when I bought mine almost 2 years ago. 64mb is completely useless.
i did the same, all i could get at launch was a core. the memory card would hold just about anything back then. now however yes it is useless, my 512 is awesome for xfer of video and DLC.
