Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements - Image 1

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements may have been delayed until next year, but the demo is now available on Xbox Live Marketplace. To top it off, Dark Messiah's website has also gone live.

The Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements demo will be featuring two maps from the game. The first map is from single player mode where you can pick between two of the classic classes: the Knight or the Mage.

The second is a multiplayer map where you can choose between four classes. You can also challenge other players to Deathmatch or Blitz mode. If you want you can also go to Training mode to get your Might and Magic groove on.

 » Err...

You're comparing an engine released 3 years ago to one released one year ago. I think you know the answer to that question (especially since Unreal Tournament 2004 on the Unreal 2 engine came out the same year as Half-Life 2 on the Source Engine, which is what Dark Messiah runs on).

It won't be as good looking in the graphics, but the gameplay is top notch. I highly recommend it.

 » The game...

Doesn't look bad, but not great either....it's way better then two worlds, but from what the demo showed, not quite up to par as obvlivion...in most areas.

Some things, like the swimming/water, fire and combat are better done then oblivion....however the class system in might and magic is way more limited.....seems to be more about exploring and action then roleplaying...

 » Well...

That's exactly what it is. If you've never played it, it never tries to be like Oblivion. Just because it's a first-person game set in a fantasy world doesn't mean it's trying to imitate Elder Scrolls. It's in its own niche as far as I'm concerned.

 » the first game..

that came to mind when I booted this demo up was oblivion....and I guarentee you that 90% of people feel the exact same way.....

Regardless of the different "flavour", it is still trying to be like oblivion, and will be compared to oblivion over and over......
