Spencer Yip of Siliconera.com has spotted of a couple of Doom titles on the ESRB website. This could mean that there's going to be more Doom goodness set to hit the Xbox Live Arcade soon.

The ESRB has ratings up for Ultimate Doom and Final Doom. Speculation is that Ultimate Doom may be an additional content pack for Doom instead of a stand-alone game. Final Doom, on the other hand, is based on Doom II, but it has an entirely new set of 64 maps. This level of new content makes it quite possible that Final Doom will be a separate release when it comes out.

Once DOOM was surprisingly added to the roster of Xbox Live Arcade titles as X06, it has gotten many people wondering if more of id Software's gaming library would be coming to the arcade anytime soon. The FiringSquad actually went out of their way to find out and contacted id's CEO Todd Hollenshead to find out for themselves and 360 gamers everywhere whether or not if more of their games will be ported to the system. This is what he has to say:

"We're looking at bringing some of the other games to XLA, but a lot is going to depend on the response to DOOM. From what MS tells us, its been fantastic so far, which bodes well for other id "classics" to be released there. But there's nothing concrete. Making the surprise announcement at X06 for DOOM worked out great, so I'll be tight lipped about anything specific for now :)"

So if you're hoping for more old school first person shooters such as Wolfenstein 3D or Quake to play online with friends over Xbox Live, it looks like action will speak louder than words so everybody should start buying DOOM on the Marketplace for 800 Microsoft Points - that's if you haven't already.

There's a little concern lately about Xbox titles going haywire via Major Nelson's list. Call of Duty 2 topped the game chart as the most played Xbox 360 title last week. Doom brought the award home as the most popular Live Arcade title (and 6th in the overall game chart).

Most folks would think this is kind of sad knowing the Xbox 360's capabilities, graphics, and controls alike have probably been maxed out already, but some players believe it still offered the next-gen wham at a lesser price compared to the PS3. But that's something we've yet to see, as Sony hasn't released its own weapon against Microsoft.

The rest of the Xbox 360's most played titles include Saints Row, Madden NFL 07, Ghost Recon 3, Test Drive Unlimited, Doom, Dead Rising, Oblivion, Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, and Sonic the Hedgehog demo. The best-selling arcade titles next to Doom are Texas Hold 'em, Uno, Hexic HD, TotemBall, Geometry Wars Evolved, Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting, PacMan, Marble Blast Ultra, and Bankshot Billiards 2.

The rumor train for X06 is finally "unloading its first passengers". Yep, we have news that the mystery XBLA franchise is id Software's FPS game Doom, which will be available for 800 Microsoft Points via Xbox Live Marketplace. The game will feature an upgraded resolution and 5.1 Dolby Surround sound. It will showcase a 4-player co-op and an offline deathmatch support. No info on the release date yet, but we bet that it would be very soon.
