Back in E3 at the LA Convention Center, Electronic Arts announced their brave new stab into the mixed martial arts gaming scene, EA Sports MMA for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The game is going to be developed by the guys who handled Madden and Tiger Woods, EA Tiburon, with the promise that the game will feature a wider variety of moves and fighting styles than the ones we've already seen.

"We're ready for the fight," EA Sports chief Peter Moore said in a press release. That comment may have been made in reference to UFC 2009 Undisputed (PS3, Xbox 360) from THQ, which EA Sports MMA is gonna square off in the industry octagon with.

They're both not ready yet, so there won't be getting it on anytime soon. As far as EA Sports MMA is concerned, EA is targetting a 2010 release.

I don't know about this. Just how people out there know alot of fighters outside of the UFC? I can probably name several active MMA fighters that are not with the UFC. EA needs more than 15(?) big names in the game if they want it to be successful.

Well thats pretty easy... Fedor emelianenko , Bobb sapp , Badr Hari , Bas rutten , Vitor Belfort , Ryan gracie (R.I.P.) , Kazushi Sakuraba , Alexandre Emelianenko , James thompson , Kazuhiko nakamura (since in his prime he was godlike) , Renato babalu sobral , joachaim hansen , Shinya aoki , mark kerr , dan bobish , frank shamrock , mark hunt , semmy schilt and the list goes on...

To be honest EA has time and money...I honestly believe if they play their cards right i think they might even grasp the attention of players from overseas for this game. especially if they use fedor

» Many non UFC fighters out there!

Because of Dana White's "elitist" attitude in terms of which fighters are worthy enough to fight in UFC, EA still has alot of options in terms of fighters.

Kimbo Slice for instance would definitely be a fan favourite even though Dana White (President of UFC) didn't want him. And even though Randy Couture was a big part of UFC, he was ommited from UFC Undisputed for some reason.

Dana White's loss, will definitely be EA's gain! and with the way EA works, I bet they already signed fighters...
