Electronic Arts - Image 1Now that Activision and Vivendi already struck a deal with the upcoming Activision Blizzard merger, are there any other gaming giants who will follow the same route as well? As it turns out, Electronic Arts is not ruling out the possibility of acquiring other developers.

According to Nick Button-Brown of EA Partners, there is so much talent to be found outside of EA. He said:

There's some really good creativity outside of EA. Look at Harmonix, EA couldn't have come up with Rock Band (PS3, PS2, Xbox 360). It's not something that anybody other than Harmonix could have done, they spent years building that expertise. It's about finding expertise that we don't have in-house.

Button-Brown also has some good words about Activision and Vivendi's Activision Blizzard merger, saying that what they have is an "interesting combination" since Activision and Blizzard are both competent gaming companies.
