Tiberium, Battlefield Heroes get delayed - Image 1Electronic Arts made known a couple of surprising game delays today. During a recent conference call, it was revealed that Battlefield Heroes and Tiberium (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC) have both been delayed.

The free-to-play, ad-supported PC shooter Battlefield Heroes was supposed to come out this summer. Instead, EA's John Riccitiello stated that the game would come out by the end of the calendar year.

Explains Riccitiello, "We decided to increase its focus on some of the social networking features," and noted that the company wanted to incorporate beta tester feedback and add new features into the game.

Also revealed during the conference call was the delay (external link) for Tiberium. Set in the Command and Conquer game universe, the squad-based FPS was supposed to come out sometime in late 2008. Instead, the game is now slated for release in fiscal year 2010, which runs from April 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010 (Yes, that's a pretty big release margin).
