Score one for Warner Bros. They've apparently been able to convince the Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC) to lift the ban on F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin (Xbox 360, PS3, PC).

What's even better news for Australian gamers is that the game has been approved as is. No cuts, no censored materials, no nothing. The game you'll get once it hits shelves is the exact same game that was refused classification by the OFLC back in November.

Of course, Warner Bros. was obviously very pleased about the outcome. Here's a quote from a company spokesman:

We always believed in the merits of the game as an MA15+ title, and we went in and argued the game on its merits. We're really really pleased that they came up with the decision that they did.

And here's what acting Classification Review Board convenor Trevor Griffin said about the matter:

After considering extensive submissions and demonstrations of game play across all levels, the Review Board concluded that the level of violence in the computer game, whilst strong, could be accommodated within the MA 15+ classification.
