Fallout 3 - Image 1

I actually did a double-take on this press release right here. Reading the title, I was like, "no way" and then "yes way" and then "whooooa." Bethesda Softworks has confirmed that the Fallout 3 DLC, which have been reaffirmed by Pete Hines to be exclusive for the Xbox 360 and PC, will now also be coming to the PS3 starting this June!

No specific release dates have been notched, but Operation: Anchorage is already scheduled to go live on the PlayStation Network in late June, with The Pitt and Broken Steel getting released "4-6 weeks apart." A new patch update for Fallout 3 will be released for the PS3 to pave the way for these DLC.

And oh, Pete Hines, you silly little rabbit, you. Despite giving us the runaround just the other day by saying that Broken Steel would be the last DLC for Fallout 3, turns out there's not just one - but two new DLC add-ons! And even better, the following two DLC will be released across all three platform versions of Fallout 3:
  • Point Lookout – Explore a massive new swampland area filled with new quests and content.
  • Mothership Zeta – The aliens have returned, and they’re pissed. Experience an alien abduction first hand and find out if you’re tough enough to survive.
Both of these DLC will still get timed-exclusivity for the Xbox 360 and PC - late June for Lookout, late July for Zeta. The PS3 version will get the two after the first three DLC have been rolled out.

Fallout 3 - Image 1All the game add-ons will be introduced via retail too.
  • Fallout 3 Game Add-on Pack #1: Anchorage-Pitt, Xbox 360 and PC, June 12th across Europe
  • Fallout 3 Game Add-on Pack #2: Steel-Lookout, Xbox 360 and PC, August across Europe.
  • A Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition: a copy of the game and all five add-ons, October, £39.99 / €59.99 / US$ 59.99 for Xbox 360 and PS3, and £29.99 / €49.99 / US$ 49.99 for PC.
Everything seems to be in order. Let's just hope that when they roll out the upcoming DLC, they don't botch it up like last time... and the time before that... and the time before that... and, yes, the time before that too...

 » nice :D

i chose to buy the 360 version, but i'm sure my PSN-friends will love this :D

many on PS3 have complained about not getting the DLC, so now, i do believe they'll be happy (for once)

 » Same here...

I sold my PS3 version and got the 360 version instead. It froze my PS3 2-3 times a day and I didn't want to risk breaking it. The 360 never froze except on The Pitt.

So good for PS3 owners and hopefully Bethesda tries to fix the glitches even more.

Oh and leveling up to 30 was easy. I thought they said it was going to be long but I guess not.

"those on PS3 without access to the downloads will be able to buy the Fallout 3: Game of the Year edition that is coming out in October. It will include the full game plus all five add-ons and have a price of $59.99 on Xbox 360 and PS3 and $49.99 for PC."

I still hate the game but I'm glad PS3-owning fans of it will be able to get all the DLC stuff for it.

 » yes! Yes!! YES!!!!

I may have to sell my old copy to get the game of the year edition so I can own a hard copy of all the content. Bethesda is going to make bank all over again.

Timed-Exclusivity = Too Little, Too Late. Leaving gamers, who spend just as much of their hard earned money on one system as others do, out in the dark just gets old.

There was a time when PS3 gamers weren't even going to get these DLCs. Sure, they're coming now, but all other platforms get them first. If you are going to cater to all platforms, don't punish people for buying one over the other. But money, and not customer satisfaction, makes the video game world go round.

Shouldn't you just be happy that it's coming to the PS3 as well. So what if it's coming later, as long as it's coming, that's all that matter. Not everyone can afford every console out there.
