Fallout 3 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC) has received a lot of outcries from fans, mostly because it shifted to FPS instead of following the tradition of the previous Fallout game. In a recent interview, producer Peter Hines alleviates fears of fan by explaining a few things. According to Hines, the game remains true to the spirit of the series, and employed the first-person for more immersion in the story: We simply felt that first-person was the best way to totally immerse the player in the world of Fallout. Not looking down on it from above, but getting you right in there where everything is big and real and in your face. Fallout 3 is true to the Fallout series; it's an RPG. That doesn't mean that we don't spend a lot of time on the combat and making it as fun and as good as possible. Most people spend a lot of time in RPGs exploring around and killing things. We want to make that as much fun as it can be. But just because that's important to us doesn't mean that's all there is to the game. Hines also reveals that Bethesda Softworks, who owns the IP to the Fallout series, has licensed rights to Interplay to make a Fallout MMO, which we've known for some time now. He doesn't reveal any further on the subject though. Hines also reveals that DLC is possible, but they aren't looking into it right now: "Our content folks are still focused on making the game. We'll have plenty of time to think about doing DLC later." Buy: [Fallout 3 (PS3)] Buy: [Fallout 3 (PC)] Buy: [Fallout 3 (Xbox 360)] |
