In the aftermath of the Grand Theft Auto 4 launch, few games for the Xbox 360 are quite as anticipated as Gears of War 2 by Epic Games. Today is a momentous one as we will all lay witness to the first gameplay trailer of this storm to come.

The voracious Locusts are back, and we all know how they love to jump out of their holes to ambush Marcus Fenix and company. We typically responded to that by timing frag grenade lobs right and spraying gunfire to pick off survivors, but it seems that the Locusts have had enough of it and they've learned new tricks.

As Cliff Bleszinski explains, in GoW 2, the Locusts have gained the ability to peg entire cities with massive holes that could take out entire human settlements in one strike. Humans respond to this tactic now by sending in trucks to jump into the holes and take the fight right at the bugs. In any case, watch the trailer and see for yourself. It's simply breathtaking.
