Judging by sales figure alone, one could say that Gears of War won't be having a hard time bagging that much-coveted "Oscar award of the gaming industry" Game of the Year title. But does it have enough "oomph" to topple the other contenders (Twilight Princess and Wii Sports) also vying for the award? With quotes from Cliffy B himself, Slate.com has a couple of reasons why GoW will reign king. In the grand scheme of videogame real estate the 'A' button is Park Place. The D-pad, Y, and back are Compton and Watts. When we put together our control scheme for our games we say to the player that the buttons that are prime real estate are the things that the player will be doing most often while playing. Constant scares dull the senses. The scariest horror movies are the ones that lull the viewers into a false sense of security and then spring something scary upon them, and a great level is no different. |

I must be the only man in the world who didn't like GoW...

SHut up before i sl@p the Sh1t outof you.
gears of war is sooo awesome because i always wanted to see a bunch of steriod ingested meat*****s roll around and get sweaty while fighting dinosaurs in gimp suits with chainsaws and *****eses!!!
no way does GOW involve any skill because you can run around with your ***** in between your legs and a butterfly in your ***** and get all the kills by smacking others with a pistol and then ramming their ass with a gernade and then kill yourself because you realize that Halo 3 will actually sell way more and have a lot more people playing than GOW ever could
I know i do!
And halo has a bunch of f@gs jumping really high like they were birds you F@g. No way, if you think it has no strategy them come see me in Gow you homo,
