Is GoldenEye 007 for the Xbox Live Arcade simply a rumor that's too good to die? It looks like it, as we were able to dig up a video of what's supposedly the port of the Nintendo 64 classic in action, as being run on a 360.

Come to think of it, this may be leaked footage of the supposedly cancelled project. Quartermann did say in the last EGM issue that the game was almost done but was scrapped because Nintendo and Microsoft couldn't come to terms regarding the money. If all this is true, it's a shame that this classic title couldn't see the light of day. Not just yet, at least.

I cant belive you said that!

WRONG! ITS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT

» So what if it doesn't come to live?

It's an old game which most kids never played in it's original era anyway. Nowaday it's just an old game which can be downloaded with dozens of emulators. What's up with all these people paying for crap they can get for free everywhere.

Tommorow I am going to take a dump and put a price on it. I am sure someone on live will buy that too.

that way we can have something to spend our excess points on after buying something worthwhile.

Everybody I knew who played video games at that time played Goldeneye. It was definitely one of the most popular console games of the late 90s. I thought it was funny how you look down on people who dont illegally download video games like you do.

 » Hahahaha...

So where the hell were you when this game was released? I was living in Japan at this time, and even there it was the second most played game out of all the Nintendo 64 games out at the time (the first of course being Super Smash Brothers). This was the first FPS I ever played, and I believe that it is still more fun to play than some of the more recent ones. Now how about instead of making idiotic comments on websites you try to go and have a real life. Oh whats that? You've tried that, but it didn't work because everyone hates you? Well then I guess there's only one thing left to do. Hurry up and climb to the top of the biggest building you can find, and throw yourself off of it.

 » Stupid idiots

I said most of the kids who want the game now never played in the original era anyway and don't get the impact it had then.

It's just an old game that got overtaken by way better games these days and isn't a arcade classic. Get over yourselves, pull your wii mote out of your asss and learn to interpretate sentences properly.

» This is footage from pc emulator

You can see that they have the frames per second displaying in the top right and have it locked at 60fps. Ive played this many times on my computer, and i even use my 360 controller to do so, but this is not xbla goldeneye.

   Re: Binary - 2008-01-20
 » bull*****

look at the folder and look at your emulator of the game.

The folder menu is looks wear/tear/old whatever.
The Faces is not like a cardboard box and ugly.
at the end of the long ass freeze it says "Saving, Please do not turn off console"

So this is gotta be xbla goldeneye. That cant be a N64 emu with such good graphic face and I never ever seen a "Saving, Please do not power off console".

That is a comepletly different GoldenEye!!!

 » never played it

played it once in toysrus and hated it, the only fps i've really liked playing on a console is the halo trilogy.

i didn't see any indication this game was on 360. no guide blade, no 360 notify popups, nothing...

the only thing that may indicate anything is saving, did the original game support saves?

   Re: Binary - 2008-01-20
 » Saves

Yeah by 3 profiles I think.

but I play it long time and never see that pop up before.

   Re: LordQuas431 - 2008-01-20
 » .

You know, it isn't very hard to put a pop up like that in there on any video editing software. I think they'd at least make it kinda transparent or something...

 » Proves nothing

There wasnt one piece of evidence proving that this was the XBLA version of the game. It looks identical to the N64 version and because of the video quality I would say it was recorded through the emulator used on a PC.

   Re: Binary - 2008-01-20
 » wrong!

watch the ending, whats that say on the top left corner???

Sure as hell I never see that on the n64 before.

------

If you all think that this video does not prove nothing, Play it on n64/PC then watch this video.

Totally different!

I play this game long time becasue that was the only game system I got until 2004

   Re: Lethal_NFS - 2008-01-20
 » ok......

I will say it again. It does not prove that its the 360 version at all. Anyone can edit text in a rom and emulate it on the PC. This video proves nothing.

   Re: Binary - 2008-01-20

including the folder menu, and peoples not so *****ed up?

oh well engouh of trying to prove my point, we wait and see when it comes out.

Let's hope Nintendo agrees to allow this game to be ported over since they'll make money from it. You like money Satoru Iwata? [waving $100 bills in front of his face]

Maybe they think people will buy Wiis to download the virtual console version for some reason, or maybe they're just bit*ches.

» golden eye will probably be on the wii

so you can just be sittin there wishin u had a wii. me? Im not gonna buy it on the wii i will just play it on ma N64...biotch!!

 » Not proof, but...

Considering the massive jump some of the graphics in this ave taken form the original GoldenEye (Just looking at the papers - that "Classified" text is WAY too clear to be N64) this looks promising.

As for the FPS counter, that's because it's a friggin debug version. They'll want that there to check the game is running smoothly, that in no way proves it's an emulator.

As for proof, this still isn't, but it looks the goods. Unless someone has somehow managed to up the size of the textures in the N64 ROM, this is likely real.

As for saving, saving was transparent on the N64 as far as i remember. You finished a level, it saved without telling you - onto the gamepak - so no HDD lag for it.
