Guitar Hero: Aerosmith to use drum and mic peripherals? - Image 1In being part of the rock music industry, rumors can't be avoided by rock stars and even games. For Activision's upcoming Guitar Hero: Aerosmith for the Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, and Wii, there's one that just recently popped up.

For this particular rumor, we found something interesting from Best Buy's website. They were able to provide the release date for the game as well as a short introduction about the game.

It was in this introduction that we were able to encounter some peculiar lines such as "
the amazing Guitar Hero series lets you drum like Joey Kramer," and "belt out vocals like the legendary Steven Tyler."

From these lines, it could mean that the music game will finally be featuring drum and mic peripherals for its gameplay. But as of writing, there's still no official word regarding this matter.

We could only hope that these could be really part of the game as it would definitely increase the enjoyment from playing it. Until then, do keep coming back to our site for more updates on this game.

Even if they did, as much as I love RB, I still wouldn't buy the game. I mean, yeah, Aerosmith songs don't always sound the same but when you hear a Aerosmith song you know that it's them. I'm not a big enough fan of them to buy a game completely devoted to their songs

lame, Activision. lame. If you're going to completely copy rock band, you might as well be a little more subtle about it and maybe make different instruments. Make like a keyboard with only 10 keys or a sax or trumpet or something.

it's not like Rock Band was completely original, either. Rock Band is basically Guitar Hero, Taiko Drum Master, and Karaoke Revolution in one game (LOL).

I think the press release was just misunderstood, myself. The pre-order is only $49.99 for Wii, and there's no way that includes all extra controllers, so unless they're going to make you buy everything else separate......which I wouldn't put past Activision, either :P

But I think what the press release meant (PR can be seen at the redoctane site) was simply that you get to play as Aerosmith, and listed all members since they're all "on stage" with you as you're playing.

In fact, here's a quote from the press release:

"Slated for release this June, this latest installment from the franchise with the #1 best-selling video game in 2007, puts players in the shoes of Perry (guitar), Whitford (guitar) and Hamilton (bass), as they rock out alongside frontman Tyler and drummer Kramer. "

Nowhere does it say anything even close to being able to sing or play drums. Although I think this has been modified as I read it a couple days ago and I believe it was worded differently then, which is probably where the confusion comes in. Looking at it, that's the same quote that's on BB's site, so I don't even see why this is a valid rumor anymore...the other parts have even been removed from BB's site now, it seems.
