In the latest issue of Game Informer, Bungie has released the first details for Recon, Halo 3's upcoming expansion pack. Sounds like players will be in for a sci-fi Dick Tracy adventure. In Recon, you'll be taking control of The Rookie, an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper during the events of Halo 2. A far cry from Master Chief, this guy is shorter and slower, and doesn't have the Chief's shields, motion tracker, and the ability to dual-wield weapons. He can still regen health though, and he has new toys like the PDA, Visual Mode, and silenced SMG. In Recon, you rocketed into Ground Zero of Earth city New Mombasa, and will have to find and investigate the last known locations of your team members, which will include Dutch, the big guy of the group, and Romeo, the sniper who's "kind of a dick.". The last known waypoints of your team mates will have a crime scene (like a rifle hanging from a street light), which will then trigger a flashback. Sounds like an interesting spin to the Halo franchise. In the flashback, you'll play as members of your team. Game Informer describes it this way: It works just like any detective show, Cold Case or Law and Order or whatever, where a detective can arrive at a crime scene, look at the chalk drawings and bullet holes and see what's going on. He hears some echoey voices and the camera crossfades and now you're at the scene of the crime two hours ago. Related Articles:
