» I'm really surprised
I'm in New Zealand, and so got this pretty early compared to most.
I'm not really a fan, wasn't impressed by what I saw of the previews, but I'm a shooter fan so figured it might be alright for a laugh.
Wow. A few hours in, some incredibly fun weapons, vehicles that cracked me up they were so fun, huge enemies to bludgen with some more fun weapons, heaps of surprising "special moves" (I'm being intentionally cryptic)...
Along with the graphics being actually stunning (which I also didn't expect to be THAT revolutionary), the lighting is awesome early on, and this game I almost didn't buy just got promoted to the top of my DVD rack.
That's just my 2 cents.

After I beat the campaign I wasn't to impressed and it seemed like all my other FPS's but then I went online and fell in love with it....Also I didn't really like Halo 1 or 2 multiplayer and only tried MP on those

Its just too bad. All this hype for yet another first person shooter. Not even a very good first person shooter. Meanwhile, a great game like "Overlord" get completely ignored. Go on and enjoy another FPS set in space you mindless sheep.

There are a lot of "mindless sheep", but I for one just love the action, and this one has it in spades.
I passed on Overlord simply because the demo played so slow.
But right now I'm hanging for Sega rally, viva pinata party party animals, Simpsons, and especially crash of the titans. All fast fun stuff.
I definitely hear what you're saying though don't get me wrong. Just don't assume ALL fans are sheep ;) Some stuff can just be enjoyed on it's own merit. This particular piece of work in the first one or two hours has already thrown enemies at me I wouldn't have imagined (I avoided all the pre game hype)

Play it on atleast Heroic, Normal is too easy and too quick for most. There's a video at the end of the credits, make sure you don't hit the A button and make sure you watch it. Apparently there is a bonus ending if you finish it on Legendary also. Might need some friends in 4 player co-op to help you complete it in Legendary and you'll have a blast doing it.

When Master Cheif go's to sleep for ages, like ripley in aliens. All the build up about this game has put me off a bit. Yeah it was fun to play, but as soon as it was finished it just got chucked on the rest of the pile.

i fell in love with this game. compared to halo and halo 2 this is somthing totally dfferent from the very first bullet i shot till the time my 360 got the red ring of death i loved this game so don't bag it it's better then anything you guys could make.

Want to leave work and finish fight... must finish fight. Very fun campaign so far... very extraordinary lighting and atmosphere. Can't wait to co-op. Got totally owned on mp last night. Maybe by the time my Comcast is moved to my new place the Spartan elite will have move on to higher killing fields.
