The plan is to do an emergency patch if required after the update if the detection is put in by MS, otherwise a full update for Hitachi to bring it up to V5.3 from V2 will come in the next several weeks... |

also first you *****es
This update looks suspicious to me, oh well. Ill lay low until after the update is out i think.
Never believe in rumors.
i've already flashed my firmware, but forgotten the name of it - is there any way to find out what firmware i flashed onto my drive?
& should i hold out on updating the XBOX 360 Dashboard until more info is released?
thx
im gonna wait, i have the firmware ready on my memstick but havnt installed, i want to see what happens first
Though it hasnt been posted up anywhere yet, i'm hearing rumours that Major Nelson says the update wont be hitting today 7th May after all..
I wonder if MS have pulled it at the last minute to tweak it for 5.3's jitter detection patching..
Also as happy as I am that Maximus/Garyopa gave us 2.3 for Hitachi drives, its a little frustrating knowing where Hitachi users stand at the moment with no news of a new firmware for them.. I hope Commodore4eva can deliver a hitachi 5.3 if possible..
Either way i'm interested to see what happens when all the noobs connect to Live, update and find their backups dont work..
Pity the forums that will have to deal with the "how do i reflash my drive, i dont have a backup" like the E66 gave us last time..
"otherwise a full update for Hitachi to bring it up to V5.3 from V2 will come in the next several weeks..."
"work is underway to bring it up to spec for other DVD drives."
Funny how a pirated game is always called a 'backup' game in these articles. If you want to pirate, own up to it, don't pretend there is a legal term for it.
