MS are right to keep the HD-DVD out of the system, NOTHING is going to budge the DVD9 standard for years to come and adding any dedicated HD player to a games console is a considerable risk at the moment.

you dont pay more just for black. you pay more for HDMI, 120gig hdd and the hdmi cables, which cost about 50 bucks alone. what did you spend your 600 bucks on? HDMI, no cables, 60 gig hdd....if youre complaining about 360 owners upgrading, wouldnt that be the same as you buying a dvd you already own in blu-ray format?

Anyways, at $479.....Sony should really bring back the $499 20GB Playstation 3. Now that would be great competition right there.

Save $20 and get a 120GB HDD
Spend $20 and get a bluray player.

What a pitiful attempt to clone PS3 by Microsoft. They don't even have the balls to include an HD-DVD drive to allow true 1-to-1 comparison! I wonder, are they now also going to sell an "Elite" HD-DVD drive, painted in BLACK? --Because, of course, BLACK is such a great marketing color for a company that has distinguished their console by an unusual (for a game console) white finish... unless of course the real goal is to make it look like a PS3. :-) And before ffc gets all in bunch over why Sony fans are on this website; well if 360 is so good, why are you wasting time talking about it and not spending every breath with it? --Why not sleep with it, shower with it, etc? ...Maybe because it's overheated and you're waiting for it to return from the repair shop (like a friend of mine). No, there won't be much of a performance increase, not noticeably anyway. The only thing (supposedly) added in this console that would affect performance is the 65nm CPU, which hasn't even even confirmed. The only real difference you'd see with the 65nm CPU is it may be a bit quieter, but aside from that there won't be much of a change.

Well, The smaller "tech" size from 90nm to 65nm is pretty good. In a nutt shell, Less Heat, Less electricity needed, faster per chip. (It does not mean that this Box is faster then the original ones... It just uses LESS of the processor to lessen the heat issues)

Or so I've heard and tried to look up, I could be wrong.

The reason the 360 is so freaking loud is because of the DVD drive....otherwise the fans are much quieter then my PC....

However, these will no doubt have the new DVD drive, which is supposedly much quieter then then original two....

Ya can buy a 160 gb drive for the ps3 for just $110.. Ya know that right ;) Probably not, idiot. And hdmi cables cost about $10... Plus the ps3 can have wifi and a memory card reader built in as well... OH YEAH, and the BLURAY DRIVE. *****. Oh, but you get some crap videos preloaded on your 120 gb drive so that you never notice that it sucks donkey ass... And if you copy the info from your 20gb drive, you lose everything they "preloaded" Good deal, huh?? Nah, not really.
And you will never see an hddvd game, and what good is HDMI without the HDDVD player??

I got a HDMI Cable with my PS3... I dont know what the hell your talking about.

That said, I may buy this since i have an open HDMI slot on my TV, and to use my old X360, i need to change the cables around.

This strikes me as a blatant PS3 ripoff with the colors and added HDMI, and the fact that they need an adapter to allow you to split the audio into a receiver seems like a silly, overly expensive way to fix the problem. Seems like more wires I have to ***** with and untangle. (For the PS3, you can set it up to send audio though the normal port or fiber optic, and video via HDMI without any adapters. )

Actually both NBA Street Homecourt and Virtua Tennis 3 run NATIVELY in 1080p, no upscaling involved.

First there will proberly be a white version to (which I would prefer), and adding an HDTV is a choice people can do if and when THEY WANT they are not forced into just one choice, at the moment the Blu ray independent hardware is the least selling system and if it fails which it looks likely to that is the system you are stuck with in the PS3, Independant HD players have both flopped.

DVD9(also included in 360) is the system that latest sales of hardware,software,games and hire shows people are going to be sticking with for for years to come.

dont forget the hdmi port, If you want it, for $80 dollars more you get #1 a hdmi port. #2 hdmi cables (ps3 does not come with hdmi cables) and #3 100 gig more storage than the premium xbox 360 and 60 gig more storage than the ps3, I think all that is worth 80 bucks.

yes it has hdmi but dvd9 does not have the disc space for1080p on every game or almost any game. PS2 has out sold 360 wii and ps3 combined and continues to sell more but that doesn't mean crap it's just been out longer just like dvd when it first came out it took more than 4 years before it out sold vhs's there is roughly 10 times as many blu-ray players(ps3's + stand alone units) as there are hd-dvd players in american households today and yes $479 is cheaper than $600 but not if you already own a 360 that's more than $800 just for a bigger hard drive(and hdmi woooooo!) sounds like a ripp off to me why didn't they get it right the first time. yeah it's cool they listening to consumers about what they want but i dont want to buy more than one system. i hope they do come out with a way to just upgrade my hdd because this is g@y.

Being able to download and view HD TV shows as many times as you want is only good if you can store lots of tv shows....

An hour long show will run at least 1 GB, so it's makes TOTAL sense to release this version for those people who have too much money on their hands, and actually have $2000 tv's and like to pay to download HD content....they are so elite...

For the rest of us that are broke and pirate our TV shows, we have the premium....

For people in the hicks that don't have hi-speed internet, but want to kill locust instead of pigs once in awhile, there is the core....
