They sure look like they want to tango - Image 1

Game Informer managed to squeeze out some sweet info from Producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi of the DMC series. You guys are probably keeping your eyes peeled for anything Devil May Cry 4, so we're sure you'd want to read this 'til the end.

Kobayashi reconfirmed that Dante will get a piece of the action, but he won't be unlockable. Our demon slayer in red will be made available to play as story unfolds. "He is not an unlockable bonus character, but is playable as part of the game’s storyline,” said Kobayashi.

Other characters from earlier in the series will be playable too, but we don't know yet who they'll be. “I can’t reveal who, but there will be characters from the series appearing in the game. That’s something you’ll have to play the game to find out!” It would be pretty cool to swing the Yamato as Vergil again, but this blogger is rooting for Lady.

Picking up new weapons from enemy bosses is a thing in the past, but Nero will be learning new skills for his Devil Bringer. We don't know yet if Devil Trigger will be scrapped too, but Kobayashi doesn't deny the possibility.

Most fans know that the North American version's Normal difficulty was equivalent of Japan's Hard. This time around, difficulty will be the identical worldwide. Speaking of identical, there won't be any differences between the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. That's right, no reason for fanboys to fight.

“There are currently no plans to support the Sixaxis controller,” said Kobayashi. There are also no plans for online multiplayer, but it won't be surprising to have 2-player support. DMC 3 allowed a second player to control Dante's Doppelganger image, and even Vergil on a certain part of the game so we might see Dante side by side with Nero.

Finally, no DMC 4 demo at E3. Doesn't seem too bad, since it can only mean Capcom's focusing on the release. We'll get something at Tokyo Game Show to ease the pain of waiting for the game to hit the shelves come Q1 2008.

 » equal =/= equal

This "making both version identical so there will be no fanboy wars" is very flawed. Because the ps3 and 360 themselves are not equal. The ps3 is 200 more and has blu-ray. So basically this says that for $200 more and blu-ray, you get the same thing!!! That in itself should spark a lot of fanboy wars... They should put some extra content in the ps3 version, that will probably result in less fanboy wars...

Thats stupid to not have some sort of sixaxis support. Its always a good idea to have some sort of differences on each console because some people are dumb enough and rich enough to buy it on both consoles. They're actually just not making any differences so they could simply port over the PS3 version to X360 with no complications. Lazy A$$ Mo Fos

It should have been a ps3 exclusive. Another waste of a blu ray disk because there only going to be using 9/50 gbs since its going to be equal. But im not a developer so I could be wrong but what im saying is that its just a waste. And since my 360 dvd drive is crap and its going to break eventually im going to by it for the 360 cause I don't want this garbage in my ps3.

if all those Sony fans who signed on that DMC4 petition actually has the balls to boycott the game as they said.

i won't get it but not because of that, i'm just not a fan of DMC and i ain't starting with the fourth installment.

Another dumb PS3 fanboy who apparently really thinks a game will ever exist that uses all 50 GB of space on a DL BR disc. Get it through your head, it's not going to happen. Do you have any idea how much that would cost? The developer would be committing suicide. It costs upwards of tens of millions now to make triple-A 7 GB titles, but 50 GB? Unless the whole game is filler or uncompressed HD videos, it won't happen.

"all those Sony fans who signed on that DMC4 petition"

it's the 360 that have darker game than normal. It doesn't have the power to show all the polygons. See the armored core comparison.

I've seen the AC4 comparison, and the lighting looks better and more realistic in the 360 version. But who cares really, since AC4 blows on both platforms?

how about all of you go lick a donkeys ball, and just enjoy the game for whatever stupid system you bought. I don't know why little *****ots don't get into their heads that it's all about money, miscrosoft, sony, and capcom don't give a ***** about anybody but investors, so shut the ***** up and buy both systems. god damn *****s have nothing better to talk about which system is better, who gives a rats ass. Everyone knows the xbox was better than the ps2, but which system had better games? The ps2 ofcourse, so it's not about which system is better, it's about which one has the better games. And if sony made the ps3 easier to develop for, maybe companies would have an easier time using up the system to the max. so blame sony, not capcom, they need to get the games out to the public so they can make as much profit as possible. It's all about money people.

You cant compare 9 gigs of xbox to 9 gigs of ps3 cause as they are different platforms, the game won't use the same space in one and another. The main executables and so on vary a lot. Maybe ps3 will get less compressed textures (that would be good for ps3, less loading time) while xbox, even with exactly the same textures, will compress them (yeah i hate to say t his cause i have a 360 lol ) .

Look at CoD 3, on xbox 360 uses i dont know... 6 or 7 gigs where in ps3 it uses for shure more.
