Fable 2 gets preorder goodies - Image 1

Lionhead Studios and Microsoft recently announced a new incentive for people to preorder Fable 2. If you preorder the game, you'll get free access to a bunch of downloadable games through Xbox Live, which you can use to pad your future Fable 2 bank account.

That's right: these downloadable Pub Games, as they're called, will allow you to transfer the gold earned in these casino-styled minigames for use with Fable 2. These games are called "Keystone," a combination of Craps and Roulette, "Spinnerbox," an spin on the slot machine, and “Fortune’s Tower,” a press-your-luck style of game.

The three games will be available for download come August. If you don't feel like preordering the game though, you can also pick them up for 800 Microsoft Points. We're thinking the pre-order might be the better deal though, seeing as you'll get the games for free.

In related news, a Collector's Edition of the game was also announced, which will retail for US$ 79.99. The Fable 2 Collector's Edition will come with a bonus disc with a behind-the-scenes making of video, a collectible Hobbe figure, an Xbox Live trial card and additional in-game content. Just note that you need an Xbox Live account to access the special in-game goodies.

» I hope this game is as awesome as the first...

And a bit longer. I played the original at a friends and was blown away by it. Sort of jealous that the 360 is getting so much RPG love right now. I don't own a 360, but I own a PS3. Luckily, Microsoft loves to milk everything for every cent they can get, so it will only be a matter of time before they release a PC version that I can buy. Same with most good 360 games.
