GoldenEye 007 Rare Ltd. - Image 1With all the gamer furor caused by the news of GoldenEye 007's cancellation from Xbox Live Arcade, it's quite impossible for the higher-ups not to notice the wishes of the majority... especially when they have set up an online petition calling for the release of GoldenEye 007 by Rare Ltd. on XBLA.

It seems that all the effort to make their voices heard is starting to work, now that Major Nelson posted a short (but meaningful) message via Twitter:

My inbox has a lot of 'Save Goldeneye' emails. I will be sure to pass them on to the right people.

It's just a couple of sentences, but it certainly sheds a ray of hope for those who want to see GoldenEye 007 released on Xbox Live Arcade. We're also hoping that the next news article about this game will finally be a positive one.

 » it'll NEVER happen

Rare may have made the game, but Nintendo owned Rare at the time it was made. It is Nintendo Property. Not to mention: for F's sake people IT'S AN N64 GAME!!!!!

 » Why Petition Microsoft?

I dont understand why anyone would send even a single email to Rare or Microsoft..

They're the ones who want the game on XBL.. duh! Its money in their pockets..

Obviously the people to complain to would be Nintendo.. Good luck on that though.. they dont a damn about gamers. Period.

Nintendo stopped the game from being released after the port was nearly complete. You could petition them, but that's worthless. I like my approach dealing with Nintendo better. Point out all their broken promises, laziness, and mistakes, then tell them what you want. With a greedy, worthless corporation like that you have to play hardball.

 » Can You Say CONKER!

To the kid who says it won't happen, Conker l&r is an exact duplicate of bad fur day just revamped graphics. I figure if nintendo was going to fight hard they would have done it then. I mean, If you copy a book and print it on different color paper its still illegal. I have a fealing itll take awhile but I think we'll get Goldenbeye

"Rare may have made the game, but Nintendo owned Rare at the time it was made. It is Nintendo Property."

Umm... No?

So.. if Nintendo owned Rare at the time Goldeneye was made, it was only "Nintendo Property" until the day Microsoft got Rare. Therefore, Goldeneye is NOT Nintendo property anymore. It is in fact Microsoft Property because they own Rare now.
