OK but then those that cheat to get a higher ranking defeat themselves through the matchmaking process. I am not an experienced online shooter so if I were to manipulate my gamer score I would just get wasted every time i played against others as the system would assume I was a lot better than is true.
As for modding i am on the fence about that issue. I had to replace my copy of overlord as for some reason it ceased to operate. I had the box and the reciept but no no no. I could keep the defect as a memento but pay full price for another copy.

If you use the latest iXtreme firmware, you're safe. The only people getting banned are the ones too lazy to update.

as long as you use iXtreme and compatible STEALTH patched backups, you will be undetectable.
Beware, not all 360 disc images are created equal and just because the nfo says its stealth patched, doesn't mean you're 100% safe.
As said before on xbox-scene forums, the ony 100% safe methods is to create your own backups

I do. I find single player games much more fun, and I do not care to spend $60 on a game that is only made for online play.
But, modders bring this on them selfs for the most part. I for the most part do not see the big deal with modding stuff, but that is just me.

Keep in mind that the only full proof way to make a 1:1 backup is to do it yourself. iXtreme is as fullproof as it can be, in that it validates everything it possibly can from a firmware point of view, but a game can have slight data change somewhere, most commonly in DMI. Or it can be due to early copies being watermarked so to speak.
I Still believe that making your own copies is the best.
