Microsoft Reports Record Third-Quarter Revenue - Image 1

Microsoft, a giant of a company no matter how you look at it, has once again reported a very profitable quarter. If you're not one who likes numbers, just know that the company, along with the Xbox division, are doing really, really well.

If you want something a little more specific, here are some figures for you to chew on.Their Entertainment and Devices division - that's the parent division of the Xbox department - grew a total of 68% over the year, thanks to sales of Xbox 360 consoles.

Xbox 360 sales have gone past 19 million during the third quarter, and is up 74% from a year ago. During the three months leading up to the end of March, PC and Xbox game revenue totaled US$ 418 million thanks to Xbox 360 game sales, video game sales led by Halo 3, Xbox Live revenue, and Xbox 360 accessory sales.

Whew. Ok folks. Bottom line is, Microsoft's doing really well for itself. Microsoft on a whole reported revenues of US$ 14.45 billion, and an operating income of US$ 4.41 billion for the third quarter of this fiscal year.
