I think it's deeper then that. for a long time ive believed the reason the japanese view of microsoft products are negitive is because they view an american console as an inferior product :(
This is true. They support Ninty and Sony because they are both Japanese companies. They are very nationalist, and are taught to be that way in school. In fact, they have only one word to describe anyone who isnt japanese, "Gaijin", or "foreigner" in english.
Like manu europeans hate americans.. and many americans hate latinos or mexicans... there are racism everywhere
its obvious you don't know much about the Japanese but thats okay, not many people do either, and I'm certainly no expert.
However its not just that they don't like this nation or that, its so deeply rooted into Japanese culture that they are a superior nation compared to ALL OTHERS in the world. This has been part of their culture for many centuries - hundreds of years before anyone ever hated america
Maybe the fact that the console IS so unreliable is undeniable proof that it is an inferior console too. Maybe that is why they won't/refuse to buy it.
perhaps, but that wouldn't explain why the original Xbox was dead last in Japan during last gens console wars.....
I haven't heard much widespread failures or original xboxes other than the DVD drives wearing out after hundreds of hours of use.
See my previous post though, if its not Japanese, it might as well be an inferior product.
well, the 360 hardware failures wasn't really a know issue until a few months into is lifecyle - but even then - Japan still wasn't crazy about the 360 - during that time hw failures were still largely unheard of yet sales were minimal at best.
but damned if the japs weren't waiting in line for hours on launch day for the PSP and PS3
HW failure have little if anything to do with why they didn't care for the 360 other than the fact that it wasn't a japanese product.
so I'm afraid your RROD theory, while logically sound, doesn't apply here as they largely ignored the console since launch day.
its the games that sell the console.
obviously, the japanese don't care for american games either
but i swear the japs are pros at shooting as well. Theyre talented at everything!
Masterchief dies at the end of Halo 3. He sacrifices himself. In order to shut down The Arc, he needs to use his suit. There’s a huge electrical discharge, which kills him. Don’t believe me if you want, but it’s true.
That was way way uncool, If true. Way way funny if not though..
