Blitz: the League - Image 1

So maybe EA Sports has the exclusive license to do NFL games, but that doesn't mean other publishers can't do pro football titles anymore. Chicago-based Midway games has announced its own gridiron title with Blitz: The League which takes pigskin action one step further into the extreme with a blend of deep features and arcade-style play.

Blitz: The League throws out the rulebook and lets players do what they want to do to win. An all-new story mode has also been added to make you feel like you're in an actual ball club.

Screenshots and other renders were released recently so you can take a glimpse of the things to come. Get ready to pump iron and treat opposing players to a little grass buffet when this one finally hits the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 later this year.
