In an interview with Videogamer, one of the developers behind Mirror's Edge (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC) has spoken good things regarding Sony's next-gen console. Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment's Sean Decker praised the PS3 cell processor because it has been able to let DICE studio push the resolution of the textures to a higher level. Decker mentioned that "thanks to the incredible processing power of the PS3", the company has been able to craft and develop its" vision of what the game really is." Decker was asked on what the cell processor has been able to do for the studio. He replied that there a lot of little things that they liked with it. One prime example would be the Sixaxis controls they have implemented in the game. But over all, Decker said: The other thing is the Cell really allows us to push the resolution of our textures much higher and we've taken full advantage of that as well. So there's a lot of little quirks to it that we really like and our engineers love as well as our designers. When he was asked about the other versions of the game for the Xbox 360 and PC, Decker replied with "each one is different." He explained that they wanted "to balance out what's most important in this game and how you want to bring that out in each one of them." So, if the PS3 version will have stunning graphics, the other versions might highlight something else. If you guys want to read the full interview log, feel free to visit the source link.
