We've seen him make a one-handed Xbox 360 controller some time ago. We
were floored by his Xbox 360 portable. And now he's back with his
latest project. Our favorite console modder Benjamin Heckendorn (aka Ben Heck) has released a customized Xbox 360 controller with four extra action buttons at the back. Curious? Check out the pics after the break. |

We've seen all sorts of fun mods in the news, but this one pushes further into the borders of what you would call the usual mods.
For James Larsson, playing Pong is fun, but it seemed like he believed
that the game can be taken up a notch. Just like any inventor, he took
matters into his own hands, and his output added a twist into Pong that
explores realms that Pong was never intended to. Minors, be advised. |

The king of Xbox modding is back. Ben Heckendorn has released the
latest incarnation of his portable Xbox 360. The new Xbox 360 portable
revision 5 has a similar look to previous models but now comes with a
Jasper motherboard, built-in ethernet port, digital pushbutton volume
control and many other additional features. |

Since the death of Michael Jackson last week, the internet has come alive with tributes for the late King of Pop. One of them is this mod of Left 4 Dead (PC, Xbox 360), where the game music is replaced by some of Jacko's most popular songs. And when it comes to the Left 4 Dead, it doesn't get any cooler than Thriller. |

For those who haven't heard yet, Mega Man 2.5D is a fan-made project created by Swedish animator Peter Sjostrand. "2.5D" simply means that the game is right between 2D and 3D, taking Sjostrand's definition of 2.5D of course. This new vid came out earlier today, and for those who grew up with Mega Man like me, seeing MegaMan and ProtoMan work together is fangasm at its finest. |

What happens when you take a Rock Band fan, a guitar peripheral, modding skills, plus a pair of an LED emitter and receiver? You get this cool light beam guitar mod. If the strum bar was getting too low-tech for your tastes, then maybe you should make like adderd019 and turn your boring old peripheral into tomorrow's plaything? Video after the jump. |

Even if Chrono Trigger stands as one of the best RPGs ever to come out the then Squaresoft bag of tricks, you might say that Square Enix didn't follow-up on the fame as well as the fans would like. So along came Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes, a fan-created ROM hack sequel to the time-travelling adventures of Crono and company. Unfortunately for the devs of the project, Square Enix just whipped out the dreaded C&D order, demanding that they destroy the 98% complete project. You might feel as bad as I do especially after you watch the trailer. |

You've probably heard people complaining about the Xbox 360 controller.
I'm sure they have their own reasons, but at least for this one modder,
it isn't so much about the 360 controller in itself, but more of his
desire to go retro. This guy took his Xbox 360 wireless
controller and remapped it in a way for it to fit into an SNES
Advantage joystick controlpad. The result is
still wireless; it's even got the LED player-indicator lights, and a female
USB slot for charging. Here's a demo vid showing it off while playing SoulCalibur 4. |

Is there a LEGO Rock Band in
the works? If we're going to base our answer on the recently-concluded
GDC presentation of Harmonix senior designer Dan Teasdale, the answer
would be no. However, if we are going to base it on his should-have-been presentation, that's quite a different matter altogether. |
