Armored Core 4 - Image 1

Perhaps one of the most inviting features of 505 Games' Armored Core 4 for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 is its online feature. This allows for players to battle each other over the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. 505 Games has recently released information about the other features that will be added to the mecha-themed 360 and PS3 video game which makes Armored Core 4 the game to play when you're feeling uber competitive.

Xbox 360 gamers are promised to experience online and system link multiplayer action in games for up to 8 players. PS3 players, on the other hand, will be able to join in multiplayer online, with up to 8 people at a time. They will also be able to experience system link multiplayer through network cable, not to mention split-screen action for 2 players on the same PS3 unit.

Now, gather your teammates, friends, acquaintances, companies, enemies...whoever to join in the fun. Destroy! (Wait, that's something else entirely...)

» Armored Core online is really bad

Just got to say I've got a PS3 and I love it and I've played Armored Core games since the first one on PS1 and always loved 'em but Armored Core 4 online on PS3 is terrible.

You can't see how many people are online, you can't even view rooms you can only randomly join one. The fights only last about 20-30 seconds, everyone uses the same weapons and when the match is over it throws both of you out of the room making it impossible to find the same bloke again.

The offline game is pretty good. It's really short like all the other Armored Cores but the quality is definately there. Plus the voiceover bloke sounds like Matt Berry so what more do you want?

 » Online?

I bought this game for the PS3 a month or so ago for the online play but much to my chagrin there wasn't a single person online, EVER! so how can you say the PS3 version of this game has online play? I checked all the severs, US, Euro and JPN, all of them empty. The game itself was alright though even if the missions felt incredibly shallow and short.
