The first iteration of the NBA 2K series was first released on the Dreamcast back in 1999. Now, NBA 2K7 has hit the newer consoles and have some people raving that it has better graphics, gameplay, and features than its previous iterations. Among the features that have been added are holiday themed uniforms unlocked with certain codes. For example, a code changes the New Orleans Hornets uniform into its special Valentine's Day version.

In celebration of St. Patrick's Day, you can try new uniforms for some teams in NBA 2K7. The publisher of the game, 2K Sports, has revealed a special cheat code that unlocks green uniforms for the Bulls, Knicks, and Celtics. To unlock the St. Patrick's Day uniforms, simply enter :tpk7sgn at the cheat code screen, and enjoy. Check out the pics of Stephan Marbury, Ben Wallace, and Paul Pierce.

2K sports makes a new feature for NBA 2K7

Did you make some outrageously fantastic play in your last game of NBA 2K7? Ever wish there was some way to keep that memory of outrageously sweet basketball pwnage forever? Would you like to piss off your friends by bragging about your 200/200 online winning streak? Well, you can try doing that now.

2K Sports, makers of NBA 2K7, are coming up with an exclusive piece of prime content for your Xbox 360. Called the 2K Reelmaker, the new feature lets fans make their very own video highlight reels from saved replays in NBA 2K7. Remember what we said about bragging rights? Well, after making your very own highlight reel, you can share the vids through Xbox Live. A very sweet deal.

According to Erik Whiteford, VP of Marketing for 2K Sports, "2K Sports has always delivered the most innovative and entertaining sports titles to gamers everywhere and now with Xbox Live, our work can continue even after our games are in the hands of gamers." It sounds like a lot of fun to make and create these highlight reels, but you can expect a ton of trash talking to ensue when everyone starts arguing about how good their skills are. Still, bragging rights have always been a big part of basketball, so it's actually a rather natural progression for the video game.

You can pick up 2K Reelmaker on Xbox Live Marketplace right now. While it does cost 400 points, it's a small price to pay to have everyone recognize your greatness. Enjoy!

Dan the Automator presents 2K72k Sports recently announced that "Dan the Automator presents 2K7", the soundtrack for NBA 2K7 is now available in stores across North America. The 12 track album features the musical rhymes of Fabolous, Most Def, Ghostface, E-40, and a special remix of "Lyrics to Go", the classic hit by A Tribe Called Quest.

Some of the tracks in the album are: Dan the Automator - Intro, A Tribe Called Quest - Lyrics to Go (Dan the Automator Remix), Fabolous - Ball Til You Fall, and Mos Def & Anwar Superstar - Here Comes The Champ. I did say it was a twelve track thing so there are probably more tracks than what we have mentioned.

Basketball meets hip hop again. Yay!

Anyway, here's what The Automator had to say: "It's cool to work on NBA 2K7 with 2K Sports. They have consistently made the best hoops video game and produced by far the most diverse and representative video game soundtracks. Basketball is a global sport and I wanted to represent that universal appeal by bringing together an eclectic mix of artists for NBA 2K7."

The fun bit here is that in addition to producing the soundtrack, Dan "the Automator" Nakamura will appear in NBA 2K7 as a playable character. Other artists from the soundtrack will make an appearance as well. Gee, I wonder how Fabolous' "signature style" will look.

2k7

2K Sports has recently announced that NBA 2K7, has officially gone gold. The game is considered to be code-complete, finito, finished, done, 100% built, ready, and good to enter manufacturing. It will reach stores next week.

New features for this year include the much covered "Signature Style" animations for players, lighting, 3D crowds, and 30 new gameplay camera angles. On the gameplay side, there's a new Street-ball story mode, a new Create player system, and a complete franchise mode.

The main draw for this release, at least in our opinion, would be the Signature Style animations. It just adds so much more realism to the game that at times it really feels like you're watching a game on TV instead of just playing a game.

It has online support built-in, a feature for all you people who love to curse and heckle each other on Xbox Live.

NBA 2K7 is ready for sale next week. Get your wallets ready.

One of the newest features in the game is Signature Style, which elevates next generation animation and adds new level of gameplay strategies as gamers adjust to the different shooting styles of each NBA player. and comprises over 300 unique animations in shooting, dribbling, and dunking. The newest version of the NBA 2K series will be hitting stores on September 25th, so go ahead and check out the demo over at the Marketplace.

All about style

2k Sports announced today new standard-setting features for NBA 2K7. Among the expected enhancements to the series, like better arena lighting, more camera angles, better "arena atmosphere," arena specific crowd animations, arena specific mascot and dance routines, 2k7 was particularly proud of their "Signature Style" (something we've already found a video for) game feature.

Greg Thomas had this to say: "Through Signature Style, gamers will be able to distinguish NBA players by their movement, positioning, shooting animations, and behavior. 2K Sports is setting the standard with NBA 2K7."

They also imply that the "Signature Style" of each player goes beyond aesthetics, that somehow the incorporation of Steve Nash's dribble, or Shawn Marion's fade-away jumpshot into the animation will actually affect gameplay.

You've already seen from the screenshots the level of detail that has been added to the graphics, so we won't touch on that, what's interesting is the announcement that there will be well over 30 new camera angles, including an eye level view from the coach's area.

NBA 2K7 will be available for the Xbox 360 and Xbox video game and entertainment systems from Microsoft and PS2 computer entertainment system in September 2006, and will be available in holiday 2006 for the PS3 computer entertainment system. More standard-setting features will be detailed in the near future.

Style

Here, we have yet an other post featuring the many juicy gameplay bits of 2K Sports' NBA 2K7.  We're very much aware that screenshots, while sometimes help full when you want to judge the quality of graphics, can't compare to videos when it comes to giving you a preview of how the gameplay will feel like.

The video we've got for download below showcases the "Signature Style" feature of NBA 2K7. Apparently 2K has taken the time to add in not only the player mannerisms but also the unique manner in which each player dribbles, dunks, passes, and shoots. The feature really helps give you the feeling that you're watching the game on TV and that somehow you've gained weird mind control powers.

Check the video out to see what we mean. A particular scene we really liked in it was when Jason Kidd did his signature no-look pass and the recipient went straight into a mean dunk.
