SoulCalibur - Image 1

Supposedly the objective of this Namco Bandai questionnaire is to "determine your preferences regarding games, anime, cartoons, and about the Soul Calibur series." But really, a more honest title for the Soul Calibur Questionnaire (head to the Read link below) would be: "Which Console Do You Want to see the next Soul Calibur on?" Especially since the first question asked which next-gen consoles players owned.

What's interesting here is that they're taking time to ask fans their preferences when it comes to all things Soul Calibur. Things like preference for Japanese flavor and style of in-game art are asked. They even ask which Soul Calibur logo you liked the most.

Oddly though, it seems that the people responsible for the questionnaire are already leaning towards a few options. The inclusion of a question about people's interests in the Wii and their average income is most telling.

I can't wait for this game! I hope they do make it for PS3 and add mega amounts of content! These games are by far some of the best fighting games out there! I say bring it, and don't save space on the blu-ray disc!

» Why would they make SC for the Wii?

Wouldn't all that violence ruin its child friendly image? I'm sure Ninty wouldn't want that now, would they?

The graphics in SC III are astounding (at times, looking like a 360 game), lets hope the SC 4 engine makes full use of the PS3's enormous power ('cos it will be on the PS3). However, I didn't think much of the Chronicles of the Swords game. And I'd prefer it if we got to customise the character's movesets rather than just their appearance.

But yeah, I agree that with SC and Tekken, Namco-Bandai has the beat-em up market sorted. (Although the occasional DOA session on your mate's 360 is understandable...Oh, Kasumi...Ayane...:-P, not to say SC and Tekken don't have their fair share of gorgeous ass kicking machines...)

Ahh the sweet question.. however would it being on Wii signal Links return into SC4?

NO offense to the other versions , but Link Sold the GC version more than the Xbox and ps2 versions of SC2 on his own.

However i think all consoles would be best if possible, let everyone share the love.

Thy are going to bring it to the x360.

And why do you keep telling people that PS3 has ENORMOUS power along with your blu-ray babbling, when all the game on your console ranges from 6 to 9GB's max?

Did you take a look at the scene blu-ray dumps of such games as resistance:fall of men?

they think that just because their format supports 50gigs that developers are gonna add a bunch more content and actually fill it up. WRONG. content takes time, and money. why on earth would a developer waste time and money on something only 1/3rd of the people will see?

Devs arent gonna make a game thats over what a dvd9 can hold unless its a sony exclusive. they arent gonna put an extra years worth of content out that wont be seen by everyone.

Sony fans are such fools.

» Huh what are YOU babbling about?

Resistance FOM is just shy of 16 GB. Motorstorm is 14 GB. Check torrentspy, there's actually ALOT of games which are more than 9GB. And this is only first gen games, I can imagine game sizes would only increase from here on out.

Look at it this way, 1080p is 6 times the resolution of 480p, graphics along are going to need quite a bit more space, not to mention that they are supporting higher color spacing detail now too. And that's not going into all the newer highdefinition multichannel audio and the addition space need for more complex games.

Working memory increased 8 times from 64mb to 512mb in the case of the 360, games were almost filling up a dual layer DVD by the end of the Xbox's life, with that much more working memory having the extra storage to draw from would be nice.

the ps3 and 360 versions will be close to identical. there might be some special character like SC2, but they'll be the same beyond that. The only real question is whether they build controls for the Wii from the ground up, or just make the port as an afterthought.
