Remember those scenes in Minority Report where Tom Cruise was using his
super awesome computer? It looked so cool back then and I was wondering
when I would be able to surf the net, switch through windows, and click
on links all with the use of my hands. From what Ubisoft exec Michael
de Plater said in an interview with VG247, that technology is well
within reach, and it's called Project Natal.
Speaking in the context of real-time strategy games in consoles, de Plater believes that the Natal technology can definitely improve gameplay. “You could definitely drag selection boxes, and you could definitely point with enough precision to tell people where to go," he said. "You’d absolutely have that Minority Report-type feeling." Controls, of course, would not be limited to hand movements and gestures. Natal, after all, is supposed to be equipped with a sophisticated microphone for voice recognition. “Natal doesn’t only have the camera, but the microphone as well,” he said. “The combination of voice and gesture could be really powerful and immersive" he said. Of course, we still don't know the full extent of Natal's capabilities, nor do we even know if the motion sensor will be as amazing at home compared with what we saw from the E3 demo. For Michael de Plater, he is optimistic that Natal will be able to improve the gameplay for RTS games. “If the technology works, so you could translate the interface they’ve already got working really well on RUSE into Natal, it could work very, very well." Tom cruise is crazier than a bag of hammers, could be good to use the natal if you have like a 60" screen or something.

In Tom Cruise's puny future, you have to use gloves to play. lol That stuff can be done with Natal and OLED... and it will damn sure look better than his crappy setup. That movie was bunk.

I know it's just a movie but you're saying that natal will be better than what was in that movie that was supposedly more high tech than that of natal.
