Street Fighter IV won't be released for more than a year - Image 1With Capcom unleashing a Street Fighter IV trailer upon us during their Gamer's Day event in London, we imagine that the fans are getting real anxious for more details for this upcoming title, such as a release date.

Capcom's European head of communications Ben LeRougetel dropped the bomb during the Gamer's Day event by stating that "Development on this project [Street Fighter IV] has only just started, so its release will be more than a year away."

The development is apparently recent enough that Capcom hasn't decided yet on which platform Street Fighter IV will be landing. On the brighter side of things, this gives Capcom plenty of time to polish up the game, ensuring that it will be just as awe-inspiring as that water color-esque bout we've witnessed between Ken and Ryu in the teaser trailer.

Right, like we didn't know it was going to be really far away when they couldn't show us anything besides a artsy rendition of a fight that wasn't at all like a video game.

Just wanted to let everyone know that they are working on the next major street fighter. A year, year and a half is about what it will take.
