You forgot the fact 3 of the platinum hits games are better than the PS3 counterparts for nearly half the price on the cheaper immediately available XBOX 360.
Maybe people that have waited for a PS3 are disappointed with recent anouncments too.

AT THE VERY MOST, if someone HAS to buy one of these games on release day(OH MY GOD) and they've been waiting for the platinum releases for awhile, they apparantly didn't have enough money to buy the original ones, so they probably wont even be buying a PS3.
And if they DO buy a PS3, that $40 is NOT A BIG DEAL.
