PS3 UT3 modding to see improvements, nothing new for Xbox 360 - Image 1 


Epic Games' Mark Rein revealed in a recent interview that progress in the push for user content over Microsoft's Xbox Live is virtually non-existent. But the vice president did say that Unreal Tournament 3 on the Sony PlayStation 3 (also on Microsoft Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X) will be given additional enhancements to modification support.

Rein admitted that the current modification system in place for the PS3 wasn't great and added that improvements to that system will arrive soon. He also said that a definite release date for the Xbox 360 version of UT3 still cannot be set, and there was no mention of how much they've achieved in that alley.

The latest developments in the Unreal Tournament mod scene saw the release of UT2k4 player skins for the original Unreal Tournament (UT Classic, UT99) perhaps in fanbase response favoring the first UT game. Close in tow were the recent asset previews of Xen Project, a UT3 mod showcasing an Alien versus Predator theme. More updates to come soon.

Sad, MS really needs to listen to its fans.
And the PS3 modding has been really lackluster. I think this would've been done better on the 360.

Epic should really, just tell MS "Sorry MS, if your not able to allow User created content, then we aren't going to make games for your system"

I mean seriously continuing any further won't get epic anywhere if MS aren't able to help out. They want to control everything themselves, which is why, imo, they will never stack up to Sony in the gaming business.

Sony allows user content and allows any dev to make any game they want, not just 1 or two, like MS did with Bungie.

Make it official, UT3 a PS3 exclusive.

isn't the problem the big deal with Unreal is the Mic's I'm sure allot of you will agree that its a little annoying not being able to talk while your playing. I just hope they get that fixed in this next update...

The mods that have been put out for this game are great.
The only reason I don't put a lot more hours on the game is because of the broken mic set up. I like communicating with my teammates in order to coordinate game play or just mess around. So far a few of my friends won't buy the game because of it lacking mic support. The rest of us that own it don't play half as much as we would if the mic problem was addressed. The UT3 Mod scene is fantastic and definitely not the problem.
