For the outdoor stuff, it's definitely really difficult to render that kind of destruction. But for us the big benefit is, on this generation of technology that incorporates both the two new consoles as well as the stuff we're doing now on PC with DX 9 and DX 10. This is another go-around for us on those things. |

that's a misleading title.. nowhere in the article does it state the 360 as being a leading console for fallout 3... merely that the developers prefer using the 360 dev kits... which has been taken as the norm in loads of previous titles....
whilst a preference was stated, the title of the article blows this out of proportion in an obvious attempt to start off another console war debate. shame on you QJ!
"...Fallout 3 will be a little bit more restrictive in terms of how "open" the players can roam around the world."
Yet another example why I will NOT be buying Fallout 3. If you had played the original Fallout or Fallout 2, you would know that the game lets you roam wherever and however you want.
This is another example of the travesty Bethesda is doing. They are turning the Fallout franchise into a quasi-linear FPS with a few RPG elements.
DON'T BUY THIS GAME!!! Even Pete Hines looks like an *******
You are an idiot. I've played both original games extensively, and it doesn't just let you roam wherever and however you want. You can load city cells, or 'wander' the wilderness in between, but it's just completely random encounters in between each actual section. Not a free roaming open world.
Even if Bethesda wants to restrict player movement a bit more, it's way to early to slam them for it - you don't know how much of a limit there will be, or in what way it will be implemented.
Bethesda makes excellent games, and they are all professed fans of the originals, so to assume they'd screw it up is just stupid on your part.
Especially stupid is basing the game on how their VP of Public Relations looks in any way. People like you are what give people on the Internet a bad name.
cant wait for fallout should be a game to remember
