The recently-released Prey has been around for longer than most people might expect - almost longer than Duke Nukem Forever. The portal technology had been even more emphasized back in 1997 when the game was shown publicly for the first time. Obviously, besides this mentioned core concept, it had very little to do with the Prey of 2006, but was critically lauded for it's cutting-edge technology and innovative features. |

amazing :) to bad they did not have back in 1998
that game had awsome graphics compared to back than
Didn't the band KMFDM make a soundtrack for the 1998 Prey?? I hope they use some of their music in this one.
And the gyroscopic portal thing blew me away. That's just too cool.
i still would have preferred to play that 8 years ago than wait 8 years for the version we have now...
It's a real shame that the game didn't come out at the time. Now, that tech is rather old-hat, but if released at the time, it would have been as big as HL2.
for 8 years ago i can see how this game is aweseom, but then they go and release the crap 4 hour long game we have now, what a disappointment
Had only that game come out it could have changed the directions that games were going and maybe the industry wouldnt be stuck in this rut of un-creative/ non innovative gameplay styles.
Holy *****, 1998, conspiracy, ultimate game? So many things...
But seriously, thats awesome I was considering Chrome Hounds but not I'm looking into Prey...
Those are some really nice graphics for a voodo2 card. That engine kicks ass!
nice technology for the time but not that great graphics imho compared to something like Halflife.
