Crackdown - Image 1 Back in February 6, we mentioned that RealTime Worlds wanted to have 200 achievements for Crackdown. But we all know about the limits set by Microsoft, so the two parties eventually agreed on having 80 for a total of 900 gamerpoints. In that same report, we also said that the missing 100 points will then be available via microtransactions.

Major Nelson recently got hold of game developer Aaron Greenberg and found out what kind of downloadable content RTW meant. The developer revealed that RTW will actually be monitoring what people do while playing the game. Sounds creepy? Well, not really as its only intention is to keep track of the most popular achievements.

RealTime Worlds will then come up with a new achievement based on what it has observed. This means that the new activity will serve somewhat as an expansion of the most favorite achievement. If you ask us, this sounds like a good strategy. After all the speculation, it seems that the last 100 points were not reserved without a good reason.

Real Time wanted 200 hundred achievements for the game, that's just ridicules. I'm glad to see Microsoft cracked down on achievement regulations it payed off with Crackdown.

Why the hell they keep talking about 80 achievements, when there is in fact only 43 achievements? I bet there are 7 new achievements in total, which makes it 50 achievements for the whole game (50 is the limit btw if you didn't know). I was thrilled when I heard that there would be 80 achievements, but too bad it's only 43:

 » WTF ONLY 900points????

I thought when microsoft updated the rules 2 weeks ago it said:

"All regular disc-based games MUST have 1,000 Gamerscore in the base game. This means that any consumer who buys a retail game will have the opportunity to unlock the full 1,000 Gamerscore without having to pay for any add-on content. Note that a publisher may decide to deliver a portion of this Gamerscore via add-on content, but the add-on content will always be free to the consumer."

The word microtransactions suggests its not free content, the is fuc king horsesh it!!!!

 » @dysfunctional - are you retarded?

you quoted the answer to your own complaint...

"Note that a publisher may decide to deliver a portion of this Gamerscore via add-on content, but the add-on content will always be free to the consumer."

@ wtf and Dysfunctionill

no need to have a go at each other (this is directed more at Dysfunctionill than wtf).
wtf- no need to call him retarded, even if he may appear that way. try mentally challegened next time. people are less likely to take offense.
D- you are WRONG, plain and simple, so getting your back up like that, writing in capitals to invoke a sense of anger and raised voice, it doesnt really help your cause. ignore your little pocket dictionary for the literal meaning of microtransaction, this word could have simply been missused by the RealTimeWorlds rep. wtf was right in saying you answered your own question because you did. NOW WHO'S THE SMART ONE? EH? SMARTY PANTS?
